Join Our Team as a Fundraising & Partnerships Officer

Please note: this is a part-time position (22.5–26.25 hours per week). The actual salary payable is £18,000–£21,000 per annum, depending on agreed hours and experience.

Citizens Advice East Berkshire is seeking an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Fundraising and Partnerships Officer to help deliver our Business Plan and support the organisation's long-term financial sustainability.

This is a new role designed to strengthen CAEB's fundraising capacity, build stronger relationships with supporters and communities, and reduce the organisation's reliance on a small number of traditional funding sources. Working closely with the CEO and existing Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, the postholder will help develop Friends of CAEB, community engagement, corporate partnerships, individual giving and supporter communications, creating a strong foundation for long-term income growth and organisational sustainability.

The postholder will play a key role in strengthening relationships with local businesses, supporters and communities, helping CAEB raise both income and its profile across East Berkshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious local charity and help shape the future of our fundraising and partnership activity.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and our Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser, you will play a key role in developing community fundraising, supporter engagement, corporate partnerships and the Friends of CAEB scheme.

You will help increase unrestricted income, build relationships with local businesses and supporters, coordinate fundraising activities and develop engaging communications that raise awareness of our work and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Community Fundraising and Supporter Engagement

Support the development and delivery of community fundraising activity across East Berkshire.
Recruit, support and steward individuals, community groups and organisations wishing to raise funds for CAEB.
Help build a community of supporters, advocates and ambassadors for CAEB.
Attend community events and networking opportunities where appropriate to raise awareness of CAEB and develop fundraising opportunities.
Develop positive, long-term relationships with supporters and fundraisers.

Friends of CAEB

Lead the day-to-day development and delivery of the Friends of CAEB scheme.
Recruit and retain Friends of CAEB members and supporters.
Develop activities and communications that encourage regular giving and ongoing engagement.
Monitor the growth and performance of the scheme and report progress to the CEO.

Corporate Partnerships

Identify and develop relationships with local businesses and corporate supporters.
Seek opportunities for corporate donations, sponsorship, fundraising partnerships and gifts in kind.
Support businesses to engage with and support the work of CAEB.
Maintain positive relationships with existing corporate supporters and partners.

Supporter Communications

Develop engaging communications for supporters and potential supporters.
Produce content for fundraising campaigns, newsletters, website updates and social media.
Work with colleagues to promote the impact of CAEB's work and share success stories.
Help ensure supporters are regularly thanked, updated and engaged with the organisation.

Fundraising Development

Research and identify new fundraising opportunities.
Work with the CEO and grants fundraiser to support delivery of CAEB's fundraising objectives.
Maintain accurate records of fundraising activity and supporter engagement.
Contribute to monitoring fundraising performance against agreed targets and objectives.
Support delivery of the fundraising commitments contained within the Business Plan.

General Responsibilities

Experience of planning and delivering projects, campaigns, events or engagement activities.
Experience of working towards targets, objectives or performance measures.
Experience of producing written content for different audiences and purposes.
Experience of using social media, digital communications or online engagement tools professionally.
Understanding the importance of supporter stewardship and relationship building.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write clear, engaging and persuasive content.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build relationships and establish credibility with supporters, funders, businesses, volunteers and community organisations.
