Role Overview
We are currently looking for a temporary operative to support the business over the next 3-6 months, this may be extended as required.
The role of the Warehouse Operative is to perform the general day to day duties required within the warehouse as well as supporting any project work as required within the AV division.
The employee would be expected to work in collaboration with our key department (Service, Install, Technical, Project Management etc) and support our engineer’s day to day.
As the standalone Warehouse support in Reading, close collaboration with our Stockport and Hertford sites is requiring with adhoc travel possible to Hertford.
Job Specification
Location: Reading - onsite
Pay: Negotiable depending on skills, qualifications & experience.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Perform inventory checks and keep quality standards high for audits
- Liaising with PM’s and other key departments on kit requirements
- Ensure all kit is left in loading bay each afternoon, clearly labelled for Engineers collection in the morning.
- Fixing job issues when incorrectly submitted
- Receipting goods and store in correct location
- Check and inspect goods received ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type and acceptable quality. Receive and process purchase orders (pick, unload, label, store).
- Restock any unused equipment returned for installs.
- Collect equipment from suppliers if required
- Clean & test hardware
- Support the AV division with organisation, kit management and other warehouse needs on projects as needed. This may include administration of the warehouse and kit requirements for a specific project as needed.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation.
- Supporting the UK Warehouse Manager based in Stockport as required to include fleet duties
- Ensure the safe opening and closing of the warehouse (as and when required)
- Basic fleet support of all Reading vehicles
- Complete kit runs between Reading and Hertford sites if required.
Person Specification/Experience:
- Previous experience in Warehouse - essential
- Driving licence - essential
- Excellent Communication skills
- Numerical and focused on accuracy
- High Attention to detail
- Calm under pressure
- High awareness of H&S
- General IT skills (Excel)
- Ability to work on own
Pay: £26,325.00-£28,500.00 per year
