Full job description

Job Overview

These roles are part-time, working afternoon until evenings (until 6.30pm) Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday. One post is 21.5 hours and the other is 22.5 hours a week.

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Care Navigator/Receptionist to join our dedicated healthcare team. This vital role combines front-desk and telephone responsibilities with patient engagement, ensuring a welcoming environment while facilitating seamless navigation through healthcare services. The ideal candidate will be energized by helping others, possess excellent organisational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Your proactive approach will support patients from their initial contact through their healthcare journey, making a meaningful difference every day.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a friendly and professional first impression
Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reminders efficiently
Answer incoming calls promptly, directing inquiries to the appropriate team members
Assist patients with check-in procedures and gather necessary documentation for registration at the surgery.
Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the electronic health record system
Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and staff
Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management of clinic rooms

Skills

Proven customer service experience with strong organisational abilities
Previous experience in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
Excellent communication skills—friendly, clear, and professional in all interactions
Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail
Proficiency with office software and electronic health record systems
Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient-centered service
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle sensitive information discreetly
