Full job description

We are looking for a receptionist to join our team:

The successful candidate will be required to be flexible with hours between 7am-8pm Monday to Friday to accommodate staff holidays etc.

The shift pattern will be fixed:

Monday - 7am -2pm

Tuesday- 12pm- 7pm

Wednesday- 1pm- 8pm

Thursday- 8am-1pm

Friday- 2pm- 7pm

The following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system.

b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments.

c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.

d. Signpost patients to the correct service.

e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members, and external agencies.

f. Read code data on EMIS and Docman when required.

g. Photocopy documentation as required.

h. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary

i.Direct requests for information, i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team.

j. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.

k. Manage the recall system via diary/QOF reporting.

l. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.

m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.

n. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards.

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the receptionist may be requested to:

a. Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead.

b. Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences.

c. Scanning of patient-related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records.

d. Complete opening and closing procedures.

Overview of Park View:

We are large practice based in Reddish, Stockport.

We have over 10,000 patients.

The clinical team at the Practice consists of 6 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GP, 1 Practice Pharmacist, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Assistant Practitioner, 1 Trainee Nurse Associate, 1 Health Care Assistant, 3 Nurse Associate.

The clinical team is supported by a large administration team, with many current staff members having worked at the Practice for over 15 years.
