We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Apprentice/Trainee Greenkeeper to join our grounds team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in turf management, sports grounds, and golf course maintenance while gaining valuable hands-on experience and industry qualifications.
About the Role
As an Apprentice/Trainee Greenkeeper, you will work alongside experienced staff to help maintain the golf course and surrounding grounds to a high standard. You will learn practical greenkeeping skills, machinery operation, turf care, and health & safety practices within a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and surrounding areas. Mowing, strimming, and general grounds maintenance. Learning how to safely operate and maintain machinery and equipment. Supporting irrigation, drainage, and turf care programmes. Preparing the course for daily play and club competitions. Following health & safety procedures at all times. Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
What We’re Looking For A strong work ethic and willingness to learn Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic attitude Interest in outdoor work, landscaping, sport, or golf Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional bank holidays Good teamwork and communication skills Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
Pay: From £495.00 per week
