Hotel Host – Margate House
At Margate House, we believe hospitality is in the details.
We're looking for a Hotel Host to join our small team and help create the kind of stay guests talk about long after they've checked out. This isn't just a reception role. It's about being the face of Margate House – welcoming guests warmly, anticipating what they might need before they ask, and making sure every part of their experience feels effortless.
You'll be equally happy chatting to guests about the best places to swim, recommending where to find the perfect flat white, helping with check-ins, or rolling up your sleeves to ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.
The role also involves bar work - making coffees, drinks and cocktails - so bar experience is a bonus.

What you'll be doing:
- Welcoming guests and managing check-ins and check-outs
- Responding to guest enquiries in person, over the phone and via email
- Providing local recommendations and creating memorable experiences for our guests
- Managing reservations and guest communications
- Coordinating with housekeeping and the wider team to ensure rooms and public spaces meet our standards
- Assisting with breakfast service and guest requests when needed
- Handling payments and administrative tasks accurately
- Ensuring the hotel always feels calm, welcoming and beautifully looked after
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in hospitality, hotels or guest-facing roles
- Is naturally warm, confident and enjoys meeting new people
- Has excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Is proactive and happy to take initiative
- Can stay calm and solution-focused when things get busy
- Is comfortable using booking systems and basic computer programmes
- Is flexible to work a mixture of mornings, evenings and weekends
