We are looking for an Progress Coach to join our Student Experience and Support team. This is a key role in helping learners achieve their goals, develop essential life skills, and progress confidently into their next steps in education, training or employment.
You will be at the heart of the learner journey, supporting attendance, motivation, behaviour, personal development and progression, while delivering high‑quality sessions that help students grow into ambitious, resilient and socially responsible young adults.
A teaching qualification (Cert Ed or equivalent) is essential for this role.

Support learners to achieve their goals and progress to positive next steps in education, employment, or training.
- Deliver engaging personal development sessions and provide tailored one-to-one support.
- Monitor and improve attendance, behaviour and engagement, implementing effective interventions where needed.
- Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and support services to enhance learner outcomes.
- Promote enrichment, work experience and careers activities to support student progression.
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and contribute to key college activities and events.
- Uphold safeguarding and wellbeing, ensuring all learners feel supported and safe.

Hold a recognised teaching qualification (Cert Ed or equivalent)
- Have proven experience of delivering high-quality pastoral support and working directly with students to improve progress, behaviour and outcomes.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver engaging, impactful sessions that support personal development and progression.
- Be confident in conducting one-to-one reviews, setting targets and implementing effective interventions to address underperformance.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners, colleagues and external partners.
- Be highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines and contribute to key performance indicators.
- Demonstrate empathy, resilience and the ability to support learners with a wide range of needs, maintaining a positive and inclusive approach at all times.
