About the Role
Dee Tech Services Ltd is looking for an experienced, time-served Pipefitter to join our team at our Hawarden site. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in producing high-quality pipework installations, working safely, accurately, and efficiently across workshop and onsite environments.
The successful candidate will be confident reading and working from standard engineering and P&ID drawings, interpreting technical information, and carrying out pipefitting works to a high standard. You will be working with carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework, compression fittings, and pipework across multiple sizes and schedules, supporting a variety of industrial projects and site-based works.
A valid UK Driving Licence is essential due to the nature of the role, travel to site, and access to company vehicles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Pipefitter, your duties will include:
- Reading, interpreting, and working from P&ID drawings, pipework layouts, and technical specifications.
- Measuring, cutting, preparing, assembling, and installing pipework systems to required standards.
- Working with carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework across a range of sizes.
- Installing and working with compression fittings and associated pipework components.
- Drilling, and preparing openings where required to allow for accurate pipework installation.
- Fitting pipework, brackets, supports, valves, and associated components in workshop and onsite environments.
- Ensuring pipework is in accordance with client specification and installed correctly in line with project requirements.
- Manufacturing drawing revisions and complying with company ISO standards 9001:2016.
- Assisting with testing, inspection, and commissioning activities where required.
- Identifying and resolving pipework issues, defects, leaks, or installation challenges.
- Using hand tools, power tools, and pipefitting equipment safely and effectively.
- Working closely with supervisors, project teams, and other trades to complete works efficiently.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, workmanship, and health and safety always.
- Following company procedures, site rules, risk assessments, method statements, and relevant safety standards.
- Travelling to customer or project sites as required by the business.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Time-served Pipefitter qualification — Level 3 NVQ required.
- Proven experience in a pipefitting role, ideally within an industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or site-based environment.
- Strong ability to read and work from standard engineering and P&ID drawings.
- Experience working with carbon steel and stainless steel pipework.
- Experience with compression fittings and related pipework systems.
- Ability to work with pipework across multiple bore sizes.
- A valid UK Driving Licence, essential due to the nature of the works and access to company vehicles.
- Good practical knowledge of pipefitting tools, equipment, and safe working practices.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to support onsite works and changing company requirements.
Desirable Skills and Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience working on industrial sites or customer premises.
- Knowledge of pressure testing, pipe supports, valves, flanges, brackets, and associated systems.
- Experience working to site permits, RAMS, and health and safety procedures.
- Ability to problem-solve on site and adapt to project requirements.
