Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper & Payroll Manager to oversee our organisation’s financial records and payroll processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, managing payroll operations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to contribute to the smooth financial functioning of our organisation.

Duties

Manage and maintain the organisation’s financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing.
Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports on a regular basis.
Oversee payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, including holiday, sick and parental leave calculations.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary documentation for tax filings.
Maintain organised records of all financial transactions and supporting documentation.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as required.
Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities during audits or inspections.

Requirements

Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll management within a similar organisation.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and payroll procedures.
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Previous experience in organising financial documentation accurately is desirable. This role is integral to maintaining the organisation’s financial health, requiring a professional who is meticulous, proactive, and well-versed in modern accounting practices.

Pay: From £33,400.00 per year
