About The Role

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Health & Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety and Fire Team at Birmingham Airport. This role will play a key part in supporting colleagues across the airport on all aspect of health and safety. You will play an important role in providing professional advice, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to strategic safety initiatives and cultural change across the airport community. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on safety performance and culture within a dynamic and fast-paced airport environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a health and safety generalist, supporting the management of health, safety and fire risks
Support the delivery and development of the Health, Safety and Fire strategy and delivery plan
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety culture and compliance
To manage specific risks, such as harmful substances, vibration and noise
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to promote best practice

Duties:

Provide competent, pragmatic health and safety advice across a diverse and complex risk environment
Review and develop health, safety and fire policies, procedures and guidance
Lead or support investigations into accidents, incidents and near-misses, sharing lessons learned
To undertake assurance activities, including audits in order to provide assurance against set standards.
Develop and deliver health and safety training to raise awareness and competence
Produce reports and action plans, agreeing and tracking improvement actions

Experience Required:

NEBOSH National Diploma (level 6), or equivalent or willingness to undertake
Experience of working in a similar role.
Good understanding of a range of health safety and associated legislation
Experience of providing health and safety advice and support
Experiences of undertaking audits
Previous experience of implementing health and safety legislation and developing best practice
Ability to provide targeted and competent health and safety advice to a range of users

Desirable:

Airport or transport experience (but not essential)
