Casual Sports Pitches Caretaker

The Active Wellbeing team are looking for somebody to join the team on a casual basis as a Sports Pitch Caretaker at the Anker Valley Community Sports Complex. As Sports Pitch Caretaker you will maintain, prepare, and secure the 3G artificial grass pitch onsite as well as natural turf sports pitches, changing rooms, and associated equipment to ensure safe, playable conditions for users. Key responsibilities include cleaning, litter picking, opening/closing facilities, and managing bookings. This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, covering evenings and weekends.
The role includes key holder responsibilities, including opening and securing the site as required on match days at weekends and during weekday evening training sessions. The postholder will use appropriate resources and materials to clean changing room floors, walls and toilets, and will also support the business support team with improvements to booking procedures and the conditions of hire for the sports pitches.
In addition, the role involves liaising with the Active Wellbeing Relationship Manager and the Head of Active Wellbeing and Culture to ensure that all relevant requirements relating to the sports pitches are met. This will include reporting any defects, damage, incidents or accidents, liaising with league and club secretaries or treasurers as required to ensure the correct allocation of matches to pitches, and assisting members of the public with enquiries where appropriate.
Appointments are on a casual basis and will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work in the UK check, medical clearance and DBS check.
