About Profence

Established over 44 years ago, Profence is a family run business operating in the West Midlands area installing all types of fencing and gates from general domestic properties to construction new build sites, commercial and industrial properties, as well as local council authorities including schools and playparks.

Our office is based in Tong, just outside Shifnal, Shropshire.

Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and organised Accounts Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient record-keeping. Prior experience with accounting software is a must, and a proactive attitude is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Manage and process accounts payable and receivable transactions
Reconcile invoices and ensure timely payments
Maintain accurate financial records using recognised accounting software QuickBooks
Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts regularly to ensure data accuracy.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
Prepare financial reports and statements as required
Liaise with suppliers and clients regarding billing queries
Assist in maintaining organised filing systems for financial documentation
Contribute to the optimisation of accounting processes and procedures
Other office admin roles, including answering the telephone and speaking with customers

Skills

Proficiency in QuickBooks is highly desirable
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial record management
Excellent numerical accuracy and data entry skills
Ability to work independently whilst being a team player
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial regulations
