Our client, a leading international manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced In-House Support Technician to join their UK & Ireland team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in the printing, packaging, ink, or manufacturing sectors who enjoys a hands-on role combined with travel, training, and operational support responsibilities.
The Role
Working closely with the In-House Operations team, you will provide operational support across multiple customer sites throughout the Midlands region, with occasional travel to other UK locations when required. The role is focused on ensuring continuity of service by covering holidays and absences, supporting training and development initiatives, and helping to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.This is a varied, field-based position offering exposure to a wide range of customer environments and the opportunity to play a key role in supporting both customers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide operational cover across customer sites during periods of holiday and sickness absence.
· Support the training and development of site-based teams.
· Assist with maintaining training records and identifying development needs.
· Support Health & Safety compliance, audits, and risk assessments.
· Produce and distribute KPI, performance, and operational reports.
· Assist with equipment maintenance coordination and improvement projects.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
· Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
· Experience within a printing, packaging, ink, or manufacturing environment.
· Good colour vision and attention to detail.
· Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures within production environments.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience supporting, training, or mentoring colleagues.
· Good organisational and reporting skills.
· A flexible approach to travel and varying shift patterns.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
· IOSH qualification or similar Health & Safety training.
· Experience using reporting systems and KPI dashboards.
· Continuous improvement or operational excellence experience.
· Knowledge of colour management, print production, or ink technology.
