Full job description

Job Purpose
The Public Relations Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining a positive public image for MONTY'S TROPICAL RAGS LIMITED. The role focuses on promoting the company's recycling and recovered materials business, strengthening relationships with customers, suppliers, local communities, and industry stakeholders, and supporting the company's growth through effective communication and brand management.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement public relations strategies to enhance the company's reputation within the recycling and waste recovery industry.
Prepare press releases, company announcements, newsletters, and other promotional materials to communicate business activities and achievements.
Manage the company's public image across digital platforms, including the company website and social media channels.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, local authorities, environmental organisations, trade associations, and members of the public.
Respond to media enquiries and coordinate communication with journalists and external stakeholders.
Organise promotional campaigns, exhibitions, trade events, and community engagement initiatives to increase awareness of the company's services.
Monitor media coverage, industry developments, and public opinion, providing recommendations to improve the company's reputation.
Collaborate with the management and marketing teams to develop communication strategies that support business objectives.
Produce content for brochures, presentations, case studies, and marketing materials highlighting the company's recycling services and environmental commitment.
Handle customer communications and assist in resolving public or client concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Support the development of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and environmental awareness campaigns.
Maintain records of public relations activities and prepare reports on campaign performance and stakeholder engagement.
Ensure all public communications comply with relevant legislation, advertising standards, and company policies.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.

Essential Skills and Experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience in preparing press releases, promotional content, and corporate communications.
Good knowledge of digital communications and social media management.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common digital communication tools.

Desirable
Experience working within the recycling, waste management, environmental services, or manufacturing sector.
Knowledge of sustainability and environmental communication practices.
Experience organising promotional events and managing media relations.
