Job Introduction

Turn Your Equine Industry Experience into an Inspiring Career

East Durham College is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Equine Teacher to join our Land-Based team on a part-time, 29-hour per week basis.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or equine industry professional to share their expertise, inspire learners and help shape the future workforce of the equine sector.

What You'll Do

Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons across equine programmes.
Support students to achieve outstanding outcomes and develop industry-ready skills.
Lead and coordinate assigned courses, including assessment and quality assurance activities.
Contribute to the development of a dynamic and industry-relevant curriculum.
Build positive relationships with employers, parents and external stakeholders.
Support student recruitment through events, interviews and advice sessions.

What We're Looking For

A qualification in Equine Studies or a related subject.
Significant equine industry experience.
Teaching experience or a desire to develop a career in education.
Strong communication, organisation and IT skills.
Commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience.
BHS Stage 3 Complete qualification is desirable.
