Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 2nd Fix Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction, with a focus on finishing work. This role involves working on-site to complete the second fix stage of building projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. The position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced carpenters to contribute to diverse projects within the construction industry.

Duties

Fitting and fixing doors, skirting boards, architraves, and other joinery components
Installing cabinetry, staircases, and other internal fixtures
Operating hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Assisting with fabrication and assembly of timber structures
Assisting with plumbing, electrical, masonry, or construction painting tasks when necessary
Heavy lifting of materials and components to facilitate installation
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and project specifications
Collaborating with other trades to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years experience as a 2nd Fix Carpenter or similar role within the construction industry
Skilled in carpentry, joinery, and the use of hand tools and power tools
Own van and tools required
Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and construction painting is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are preferred but not essential
