Who are we looking for?
Totton College is looking for a College Services Advisor, with its key position being based at front of house, on reception, as part of the Information Centre team.
Duties, responsibilities, and experience required, include but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative support to all staff as necessary.
- Acting as the first point of contact for students, prospective students, parents and members of the public; resolving enquiries effectively and efficiently.
- Under guidance, initiating contact with students, prospective students, parents and other colleagues to ensure issues are progressed efficiently.
- Managing diaries, including booking appointments and meetings for students, prospective students and staff as required.
- Providing information and where appropriate, advice to prospective and current students on courses, including information on fees, course requirements and progression opportunities.
- Providing information and where appropriate, advice to prospective and current students within all service areas as part of the one-stop-shop (e.g. admissions, examinations, welfare, work experience), referring when needed to colleagues and external agencies.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience of administration in an office environment within education administration is desirable
- GCSEs including English and Maths or equivalent
- A levels, HNC/D or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience in note taking at formal and/or informal meetings is desirable.
The role holder will possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a team, with excellent attention to detail and customer service skills and hold a personal commitment to equality and inclusion.
