Full job description

Leicester | LE4 | Salary: Up to £28,500 per annum depending on experience

Shift hours: 10.00am - 6.00pm, Monday - Friday. (Flexibility required to meet business needs)

We’re looking for someone who cares about high standards, enjoys being on the shop floor and is confident speaking up when something doesn’t look right.

We are looking for a QA to join our team in LE4. This is a hands on role supporting Production and wider site teams to maintain high standards of food safety, quality and compliance across the business.

You’ll play an important part in carrying out QA checks, supporting factory standards and helping create a culture where food safety and quality are part of everyday behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

Escalate food safety, quality or compliance concerns promptly
Support investigations relating to non conforming product
Work closely with Production and Hygiene teams to maintain standards
Support audit readiness and overall factory standards
Help strengthen the food safety and QA culture across site
Maintain a visible and supportive shop floor presence
Product weight checks
Coding and date label verification
Packaging and seal integrity checks
Temperature checks
Metal detector verification checks
Product quality checks including appearance, texture and consistency
Start up and changeover checks
CCP monitoring and recording
Allergen and ingredient verification checks
GMP and hygiene inspections
Glass and hard plastic checks
Documentation and record verification

What Success Looks Like

A checks are completed accurately and on time
Factory standards are consistently maintained across production areas
Food safety and quality concerns are identified and escalated promptly
Positive working relationships are built across departments
GMP and hygiene standards are visibly upheld on the shop floor
Documentation is completed accurately and in real time
Teams are supported in maintaining right first time standards
Opportunities to improve standards and ways of working are identified and acted upon
A positive contribution is made towards audit readiness and continuous improvement

About You

At least 2 years of food manufacturing or QA experience essential
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
Comfortable working in a fast paced production environment
Confident communicating with people across all departments
Positive attitude with willingness to learn and challenge standards appropriately
Hands on and proactive approach
Food Safety Level 2 Essential
Experience within chilled or high care manufacturing
Understanding of GMP and BRCGS standards

Working Environment

Fast paced food manufacturing environment
Regular shop floor presence and walking required
PPE and factory hygiene standards must be followed at all times
Some flexibility may be required to support operational needs
