About Cedar Care Group

Cedar Care Group works alongside local authorities across the UK to provide affordable, quality housing and support services for people who may require additional assistance to live independently and successfully maintain their accommodation.

Job Summary

As a Housing Support Officer, you will provide high-quality, person-centered support to residents with a range of support needs. You will work alongside individuals to promote independence, well-being, and positive outcomes while helping them maintain their tenancy and engage with the wider community.

The role requires close collaboration with colleagues, external agencies, and support services to ensure residents receive appropriate assistance tailored to their individual circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

Build positive and professional relationships with residents, identifying support needs and agreed goals.
Provide practical and emotional support to residents to promote independence and well-being.
Assist residents with daily living activities, including budgeting, attending appointments, accessing services, and managing their tenancy responsibilities.
Encourage engagement with healthcare providers, community resources, and other relevant support services.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and support documentation.
Work in accordance with safeguarding policies and procedures, raising concerns appropriately when required.
Respond professionally to resident concerns and liaise with the Housing Officer or Manager where necessary.
Work collaboratively with external professionals and partner agencies to support positive outcomes for residents.
Carry out property inspections and report maintenance, repair, and health and safety issues.
Promote a safe, clean, and respectful living environment within communal and private areas.
Complete required health and safety checks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Support residents with housing-related matters, including tenancy sustainment, neighbor concerns, and community engagement.
Attend team meetings, training sessions, and service development initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, GDPR requirements, and professional standards.
Maintain property security and report any concerns promptly.
Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management that are consistent with the nature of the role.

Person Specification

Essential Skills and Experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
Basic IT and administrative skills.
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.
Awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Ability to build positive working relationships with residents, colleagues, and external agencies.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Desirable
