Full job description

Fabricator / Welder

Location: Bathgate (EH48 2FU)

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 06:00 – 13.00

Rate: From basic £17.00 per hour + overtime rate from £25.50 per hour

Reports to: Engineering Plant Manager

The Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join our main metal fabrication facility in Bathgate. The successful candidate will work closely with one of our most experienced Fabricator/Welders, who is due to retire this year, providing a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of specialist processes and play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of workmanship.

You will be involved in the fabrication and welding of anti-vandal cabins, internal and external staircases, ramps, and associated steel structures used within our modular buildings.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication and MIG welding of steel components in various positions
Manufacture of staircases, ramps, and structural steelwork
Working from engineering drawings and specifications
Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety
Supporting production targets in a fast-paced environment

About You

Time-served Fabricator/Welder with extensive experience in steel fabrication
Fully competent in MIG welding
Experience working with structural steelwork (e.g. stairs, ramps)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Flexible approach to overtime when required
