Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fish Fryer to join our busy kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and culinary excellence, specialising in frying fish and other fish and chip shop meals. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fish according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the fryer station and surrounding work areas
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
- Assist with meal preparation as needed, supporting other kitchen staff during busy periods
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and report any malfunctions or hazards immediately
Requirements
- Proven experience as a fish fryer or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with meal preparation, especially frying seafood dishes
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, cleaning procedures, and hygiene regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is desirable
- Ability to work as part of a team, maintaining a positive attitude during busy service times
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.47-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
