Blackpool Transport is looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting employees and managers across the business.
As a HR Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support throughout the employee lifecycle, helping to deliver a professional, efficient and compliant HR service. From recruitment and onboarding to employee records and HR administration, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our people processes run smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing day-to-day administrative support across the HR function.
- Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and personnel files.
- Processing new starters, leavers and employment changes.
- Preparing HR letters, contracts, forms and other documentation.
- Supporting recruitment activities, including interview coordination and candidate communications.
- Assisting with onboarding and ensuring all pre-employment checks are completed.
- Processing references, DBS checks and right-to-work documentation.
- Administering staff passes and employee identification processes.
- Taking professional and accurate notes at HR meetings, including disciplinary, grievance and welfare meetings.
- Responding to HR-related enquiries from employees and managers.
- Supporting HR projects, employee communications and policy administration.
- Ensuring all HR information is handled confidentially and in line with data protection requirements.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Professional, approachable and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Confident communicating with people at all levels.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experienced in administration, ideally within an HR environment.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office and the ability to use HR systems.
- Comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ideally CIPD Level 3 qualified or currently working towards a CIPD or other HR-related qualification.
