Rigger - Heysham 2
Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Rigger to join the team at Heysham 2 for the upcoming outage project.
The work pattern for this position is 13/1, Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:00, Friday 07:30-13:30. This is a fixed term position which required CTC clearance. Starting 4th September 2026 until 13th November 2026 approx.
The position is paid under NAECI agreements, with lodge and travel paid where applicable. Pay rate: £23.45 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- To ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications including lifting studies/plans.
- To inspect items to be moved, determine weight and decide on type of equipment to be used.
- To erect jib, derrick or similar hoisting equipment using winches as necessary and to install lifting tackle such as ropes and pulleys etc.
- To attach slings, chains or other grappling equipment to the item to be moved and to connect to hoisting equipment.
- To direct equipment operator to move object to required position.
- To splice wire and fibre ropes.
- To operate hydraulic jacking equipment and move objects on rollers.
- To be trained and operate a Forklift Truck as per site/client requirements
- To adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment.
- To use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training/certification requirements.
Key Requirements
- You will have completed a recognized training programme and have experience within the oil & gas industry or other continuous process industry.
- Appropriate qualifications such as CompEx, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent should be held.
- Must be CTC cleared or willing to undergo clearance

- NVQ level 3
