Health & Safety Coordinator (Single site – Food / Poultry Manufacturing)
Term: 3 month fixed term contract (9am till 2pm Monday – Friday or similar)
Pay: Circa £16 – 20 phr dependant on experience
Location: Preston, Lancashire, UK.
Start: Immediate

Gafoor is a dynamic and rapidly growing family-owned business in Preston. They are a key player in their sector operating on a national basis, supplying poultry products to leading blue chip manufacturers.
We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Coordinator to support the business and senior leadership team on a temporary basis covering our permanent S.H.E Manager. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure that all current projects remain on track and that any adverse incidents are managed and investigated appropriately.
This is a hands-on role, where your presence within the factory will ensure we continue to drive the principles of a safety first culture.
You will need to have worked in a similar manufacturing environment and have an IOSH certificate as a minimum.

The Role
- Support the day-to-day management of health and safety across the business
- Conduct routine workplace inspections and safety audits
- Maintain health and safety records, reports, and documentation
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance and compliance
- Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the workplace
- Liaise with managers, contractors, and external agencies on safety matters
- Assist with fire safety, and evacuation drills
- Provide general administrative support relating to health and safety activities
- Provide flexible health and safety support to cover general operational requirements on a part-time basis.
Essential attributes and skills:
An IOSH certificate and evidence of an interest and Health and safety matters.
Work experience in a similar food manufacturing environment in the UK.
- Strong communication skills and the assertiveness to challenge others where necessary
- Strong work and team ethic, able to motivate and inspire others
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at any one time
- Excellent I.T skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
