We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator and Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting and press brake machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and a good understanding of fabrication processes. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines and press brakes in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine production requirements.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate cuts and bends, maintaining tight tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Handle sheet metal using hand tools, tooling, and fixtures to prepare for fabrication processes.
- Conduct grinding, welding, or assembly tasks as needed to complete finished products.
- Monitor production quality throughout the process, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, or related manufacturing roles.
- Knowledge of grinding, welding, and assembly techniques is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand machinery operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with hand tools, tooling, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience operating laser cutters or press brakes is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
