Full job description

The Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health (NDWRH) is seeking a Study Administrative Assistant/ Data Coordinator to jointhe global maternal health research team supporting the E-MASTER research programme.

E-MASTER is an international programme of research aiming to improve the early detection and treatment of postpartum haemorrhage during caesarean birth, with the ultimate goal of improving maternal outcomes worldwide.

Working closely with the Chief Investigator, International Coordinator, Programme Manager, Programme Officer and Clinical Study Administrators, the postholder will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of this multi-country clinical study. They will provide high-quality administrative and data management support, helping to maintain robust study systems, ensuring data integrity and contributing to the efficient delivery of this important global health research programme.

The role offers a varied range of responsibilities including organising meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes, responding to participant and site enquiries, maintaining study documentation, supporting participant follow-up, managing study supplies and assisting with study promotion and recruitment activities. The postholder will also be responsible for supporting data collection, data cleaning, validation and reconciliation, implementing quality control procedures, resolving data queries and ensuring study documentation is maintained and archived in accordance with study procedures.

The post will involve working closely with colleagues across the study team and with recruiting sites to develop effective working relationships that support high-quality study delivery. The post also offers opportunities to contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative and data management processes and to support study reporting and oversight activities.

Applicants should have experience of managing administrative processes together with experience of data entry and working with large databases. Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing workloads while meeting deadlines are essential. Candidates should also possess excellent IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and relational databases or similar systems, together with an understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and good data management principles.

Experience of working within clinical trials, healthcare research or using REDCap is desirable but not essential.

The post is offered on a full-time basis (part-time considered) and is fixed term until 30 June 2027 in the first instance. Applications for flexible working arrangements are welcomed and will be considered in line with business needs.
