Full job description

Due to continued growth, MacRail are recruiting for Railway Site Access Controllers (SAC) to work on a long-term project based in Oxford (OX1 1TE). Full-time work is available for the right candidates.

MacRail is a leading company in Site Access, working nationally on railway engineering projects.

This role is ideal for people looking for steady, long-term work with consistent shifts in one main area (Oxford), rather than constant nationwide travel.

Job Overview

As a Site Access Controller, you will manage access to railway work sites, making sure only authorised and safe personnel enter. You will also support site teams with basic admin and safety checks.

Main Duties

Signing workers in and out of site
Carrying out PPE and ID checks
Completing basic safety briefings
Supporting site teams with safety and attendance records
Recording incidents, reports, and site updates
Helping manage fatigue rules and safe working hours
Acting as the main point of contact for site access

Working Pattern

Based mainly in Oxford (OX1 1TE) with some nearby travel if required
Throughout midweek and weekend morning and/or afternoon shifts.
Long-term, ongoing project work with full-time opportunities

Requirements

Full UK driving licence and access to a car
Live locally in Oxford.
Available for midweek and weekend work (morning or afternoon shifts)
Good communication skills
Confident dealing with people and enforcing site rules
Basic IT skills
Able to stay alert and follow safety procedures
