Join Northumberland County Council’s Staff Bank as a Refuse Loader for the West of the County.

Are you looking for flexible, temporary work opportunities? Northumberland County Council’s Staff Bank is designed for individuals who want to be considered for short-term, temporary roles.

This is not a permanent role, but being part of the Staff Bank means you’ll have the chance to take on temporary assignments, ranging from regular shifts to one-off opportunities, depending on availability and need.

About the Role
As a Refuse Loader, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our communities clean and tidy. This is a physically demanding role that requires commitment and a strong work ethic.

Key Details:

Start time: 7:00am.
Finish time: Approximately 4:30pm.
Working days: Monday to Thursday.
Pay rate: £13.05 per hour.

What You’ll Do:

Collect and empty household or commercial waste bins onto collection vehicles.
Assist the driver in completing routes and operating collection equipment safely.
Maintain the cleanliness of collection areas and vehicles (ensuring areas are tidy after collection and treating vehicles with respect).

What We’re Looking For:

Physical fitness – You’ll need to be able to walk long distances, be on your feet for extended periods, and lift heavy loads.
A positive attitude and reliability.
