Content strategy in iGaming isn't just about producing articles — it's about understanding complex search landscapes, regulated markets, and commercially demanding clients who expect their content to perform. As a Senior Content Strategist at Receptional you'll be bridging the gap between SEO insight and content execution — developing data-driven strategies, owning the end-to-end content process, and working closely with the Head of SEO and Off-Page SEO teams to ensure everything you deliver moves the organic needle. You'll also be a leader within the Organic team — mentoring junior members, setting quality standards, and contributing to pitches and thought leadership. It's a senior role with real breadth, reporting to the Head of SEO with direct influence on some of the biggest iGaming operators in the world.
This is a senior role that spans strategy, execution, and leadership. You'll be developing and owning data-driven content strategies for iGaming clients from end to end — from initial audit and planning through to briefing, quality review, and performance analysis. At the same time you'll be working across the Organic team, collaborating with SEO and Off-Page specialists, and acting as a credible, commercially-minded point of contact for clients. There's genuine breadth here: no two clients are the same, the search landscape is evolving fast, and you'll be expected to stay ahead of it.
In practice, that looks like:
- Developing comprehensive content strategies informed by keyword research, competitive analysis, SERP landscape assessment, and audience insight
- Producing content audits to assess performance, identify gaps, and define consolidation, optimisation, or creation priorities
- Building and maintaining client content calendars aligned to SEO priorities, commercial objectives, and key industry moments — including the sporting calendar for iGaming clients
- Planning, briefing, and quality-assuring multi-format content — blogs, landing pages, whitepapers, video scripts, and more — before it reaches the client
- Working closely with the Head of SEO to ensure content strategies are fully integrated with on-page and technical SEO activity
- Collaborating with the Head of Off-Page SEO to align content strategy with link acquisition goals and digital PR-led content
- Presenting content strategies and performance updates to clients in a clear, commercially-framed way — contributing to QSRs and key account management sessions
- Proactively identifying content-led upsell and cross-sell opportunities and working with client services to develop proposals
- Mentoring junior team members, providing editorial guidance, creative direction, and performance feedback
- Contributing to new business pitches, thought leadership, and agency marketing activity
You'll need to be equally strong as a strategist and a practitioner — someone who can develop a content architecture from scratch and then write the brief that brings it to life. In iGaming, the search landscape shifts constantly: AI Overviews, algorithm updates, regulated content requirements. The right person stays ahead of all of it, translates it into clear strategic direction, and brings clients and colleagues along with them. You'll also be mentoring junior team members, so the ability to give clear, constructive direction is as important as the technical expertise.
Essential:
- Proven experience in content strategy, ideally within a digital marketing agency environment
- Strong working knowledge of SEO principles — keyword research, search intent, content optimisation, metadata, and topic authority
- Proficient with Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and Google Search Console
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable content strategies and briefs
- Excellent written communication skills — you produce high-quality strategic documents and client-facing content to a consistently strong standard
- Familiarity with AI tools and evolving SERP features — AI Overviews, LLMs — and their practical impact on content strategy
- Strong project management skills — you manage multiple client strategies simultaneously without standards slipping
- Experience working collaboratively across SEO, content production, and client services teams
Desirable:
- iGaming, sports betting, or regulated-sector experience — we'll get you up to speed if not
- Previous line management or mentoring experience
- Understanding of digital PR and how earned media intersects with content strategy
- Experience with content performance measurement and reporting frameworks
- Degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related discipline
