Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable General Operative specialising in forestry and landscaping. This role involves working outdoors across various sites, contributing to the maintenance and development of green spaces, woodland areas, and landscaped environments. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting environmental projects, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks undertaken.

Duties

Assisting with planting, pruning, and general tree care to promote healthy growth.
Operating landscaping machinery such as mowers, trimmers to start and once proven, we will invest in chainsaw tickets and plant.
Clearing debris, fallen branches, and overgrown vegetation from designated areas.
Supporting woodland management activities including ecology and habitat restoration.
Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
Assisting with the installation of new landscaping features such as fencing, pathways, or planting beds.
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
Supporting team members in completing daily tasks efficiently whilst adhering to environmental guidelines.
Overtime available
Does involve travel and sometimes, nights away

Experience

Previous experience in forestry, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of safe operation of outdoor machinery and hand tools is desirable.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions while maintaining a high standard of work.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
A proactive attitude with a keen interest in getting to know forestry and landscape management. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor work and environmental conservation to develop their skills within a supportive team environment. All roles are paid positions, reflecting the importance of each team member’s contribution to our projects.

Pay: £26,437.00-£30,000.00 per year
