WORKING CONDITIONS:
Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (35 hrs/wk). Office based.
POSITION SUMMARY AND CANDIDATE PROFILE
Reporting within a client portfolio servicing team to a Client Manager, the position is responsible for providing accurate, complete and timely tax returns and accounts for clients and supporting the Client Manager / Practice Partner to meet account production service levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The key duties of the post are as follows:
· Preparation of Sole Trader and Individual Personal Tax Self-Assessment Tax returns for manager review.
· Assist with bookkeeping duties to include double entry bookkeeping, processing sales & purchase invoices, reconciling bank, preparing VAT returns and helping prepare P&L accounts and balance sheets.
· Preparation of limited company accounts for manager review.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Manager – Bookkeeping, VAT & Management Accounts, Client Partners and Accountants.
· Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff and interpret and respond clearly and effectively.
· Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications.
· Maintaining CPD requirements through the TaxAssist Academy technical and professional associations/training organisations.
GENERAL MINIMUM JOB STANDARDS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Quality of work: accuracy, thoroughness, completeness. Assignments are completed using standard work-papers/templates to a high standard that are ready for review. Partners can complete their reviews and communicate with the client within assigned review budgets. All in and out client correspondence is filled in TaxCalc and Virtual Cabinet
2. Productivity: assignments are completed within the budgeted time and costs which are always checked before commencing work. Colleague always checks the agreed Client “Record Quality” factored into client fees and escalates any issues with the Partners for resolution with the client before spending time.
3. Client Development & Satisfaction: Clients worked on are satisfied with our service and would rate us a minimum of 8 or 9 out of 10. They would recommend us to their friends and family. Client concerns/issues are escalated to Partners. Client requests and communications are acknowledged within 1 day and fully responded to within agreed time frame. Opportunities to broaden our services to clients are identified. Where our services are appropriate personal contacts are introduced as new clients.
4. Teamwork and Communication: Colleague is a positive and effective team player. Treats colleagues with dignity and respect. Communicates issues or problems within the team and with the Partners as necessary. Helps colleagues.
5. Administration: Checks fees and completes accurate time records.
PERSON SPECIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Experience and skills required:
· Minimum of 1 years' experience
· Preparation of personal tax returns
· Strong double entry bookkeeping skills
· Knowledge of financial applications: QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, TaxCalc
· Ability to work quickly and accurately
· Ability to manage and work to own deadlines
· Excellent team player and enjoys working in a fast paced and busy client facing environment and being part of a dynamic and growing team
· Understanding of Sole Trader and Individual Personal Tax Self-Assessment Tax returns

Pay: Up to £27,000.00 per year
