About the role

Cambridgeshire County Council is committed to helping people live healthy, safe and independent lives. We are looking for a motivated Contract Management Officer to support the delivery of key highways contracts that underpin vital services across the county.

You will play a key role in managing and monitoring our Highways Term Service Contract, ensuring strong performance, value for money, and delivery aligned with corporate priorities. Working within the Highways Commercial & Contract Management Team you’ll collaborate across the council to ensure services are effective, efficient and fit for purpose.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong stakeholder skills and the ability to navigate complex environments to drive positive outcomes.

What will you be doing?

Supporting the management of highways contracts worth circa £65m per annum
Monitoring performance, delivery and programmes across infrastructure services
Working with NEC3, NEC4 and PFI contracts
Supporting continuous improvement, including digital-first approaches
Producing analysis, reports and performance insights
Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure effective contract delivery

About you

You will have:

Strong organisational and analytical skills, with confidence working with data
Knowledge of highways contracts, construction/civils, programme management and supplier engagement
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

You’ll be motivated to make a difference in local communities and keen to learn and develop within a supportive team.
