Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for supporting various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture and gardening, with practical experience in landscape maintenance and the use of power tools. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in construction and mechanical tasks while contributing to the upkeep and enhancement of outdoor environments. The position involves working outdoors in diverse weather conditions, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained throughout all tasks.
Responsibilities
Milburn Construction are looking for their next appointments to their Groundwork Gangs to work on projects throughout the Northeast. Supporting earthworks, civils operations and groundworks, typical duties will include:
- Drainage including Deep Drainage and Plot Drainage
- Roads and Sewers
- Foundations of various types
- Reinforced concrete works
- Retaining walls
- Kerbs, Paving and other external works
- Service trenches and plot works
- General groundworks and site preparation
Experience
- Previous experience and competency is a must in this role
- Experience operating excavators or other heavy machinery is preferred but not essential; training will be provided if necessary
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools within a construction setting
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina and attention to detail
- CSCS qualified (minimum requirement)
- Driving licence required
