The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday on a rotating shift. Week one - 6/2 @ basic hourly rate. Week two - 2/10 - basic hourly rate plus 15% shift premium.

Purpose of the role
We are looking for a Production Supervisor who will ensure that all elements of the associated cell are supervised and coordinated in a safe, clean, productive and organized manner in order to deliver components within the required timescale.
To provide technical expertise, coach and support a team of setters and operators to minimize equipment downtime, maximize output of the cell and to ensure appropriate SHEQ requirements are maintained at all times. Customer service must be maintained at >99% consistently and have minimum costs on production.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Ensuring that Customer Service levels are maintained above 99%
Ensuring that tooling and equipment are in place to satisfy orders.
Ensure there is a positive safety culture within your team and all relevant SHEQ checks and communications are carried out in a timely manner.
Promoting good housekeeping and establishing 5s.
Ensuring all products are manufactured in accordance with ALL quality specifications and procedures at all times.
Planning and coordinating production to satisfy internal and external customers.
Managing and motivating teams to achieve clear visable targets.
Producing daily and monthly reports highlighting key measures of performance and any issues.
Support any department, factory or company projects as required and actively promote H&S, Quality, OpEx and 5s.
Adopting and developing “Operational Excellence” activities, e.g. LEAN & Six Sigma techniques within the team.
Producing daily and monthly reports highlighting key measures of performance and any issues.
Developing team members to ensure there are suitable skills and cover in all areas, maintain and active skills matrix.
Conducting and executing personal performance appraisals.
Liaising with sales team to give order lead time and updates and with internal departments regarding resources and services.
Be flexible in utilizing your own and your teams skills and knowledge to benefit the business when the need arises.
Where you possess the relevant skills and knowledge, or following suitable training be flexible enough to perform any other reasonable duties in order to support the business (e.g. covering other areas).
Key Functional Competencies and Experience
ESSENTIAL
Experience in high volume manufacturing environment
Previous supervisory experience.
Used to working to short lead times and under pressure.
Experience in the implementation of LEAN tools and principles (5s – Process confirmation – TPM – SOP)
Production area planning – manning, machines and material utilization,
Communication skills at all levels.
Ability to work “hands on” and to lead & motivate.
Good problem solving & decision making skills.
Must be flexible and self motivated.
Experience of writing risk assessments and SOPS.
Mechanical/Engineering knowledge
Able to understand engineering drawings.
Experience of managing a team to SHEQ procedures.
DESIRABLE
Supervisory qualification, e.g. ILM, NVQ, NEBS, or similar.
HNC in engineering principle.
Power Press setting experience.
Wire forming experience.
Engineering apprenticeship or training.
IOSH in H&S or equivalent.
Project management experience
