Bakery Assistant
Full Time | Permanent | Wholesale Bakery
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Bakery Assistant to join our busy wholesale bakery team at The Fab Food Bakery.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in producing quality products, and is willing to step up and take responsibility when needed.
Previous bakery or kitchen experience would be beneficial, however it is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate. Attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn are just as important to us as experience.
You will work closely with the Bakery Manager and become an important part of the day-to-day running of the bakery. We are looking for somebody proactive, dependable, and capable of helping keep production running smoothly during busy periods.
Working Hours
35 hours per week
- Monday: 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Tuesday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Wednesday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
Please note:
- Additional hours will be required during busy seasonal periods
- Flexibility is important, particularly during staff holidays and peak production times
- Hours may reduce slightly during quieter periods of the year
What We Produce
We supply a wide range of wholesale products to cafés, restaurants, and retail customers, including:
- Cakes
- Cheesecakes
- Traybakes
- Gateaux
- Dessert bites
- Quiches
- And more
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation, baking, and finishing of products
- Working to production schedules and daily deadlines
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards
- Helping maintain consistency and quality across all products
- Supporting the Bakery Manager with day-to-day operations
- Taking initiative and helping the team during busy periods
What We’re Looking For
- Bakery, catering, or kitchen experience preferred but not essential
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work efficiently in a busy production environment
- Comfortable with early morning starts
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexible when extra hours are required
Pay
This role is paid at National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage depending on age.
Following a successful 6-month probation period, there is potential for increased pay for candidates who show strong reliability, initiative, and performance within the role.
Please Note
Due to the nature of the equipment and responsibilities involved within the bakery, applicants must be aged 18 or over.
