Full job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisor to lead and manage a small team in our six bed Dementia EMI Care Home within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record as a Senior Care Assistant. This position offers an opportunity to oversee daily tasks, motivate staff, and ensure exceptional person centred care is delivered. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards while fostering a positive team atmosphere. The successful applicant will ideally be qualified level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards) with experience of Dementia

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily tasks of team members to ensure personal care excellence
Lead, motivate, and develop staff to achieve individual and team objectives
Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure timely completion of duties
Maintain excellent communication with team members, residents, and management
Conduct administrative tasks including reporting, record keeping, and electronic logging
Ensure compliance with health and safety, cqc and outside regulating bodies regulations across all areas of operation
Support recruitment processes by participating in interviews and onboarding new staff members

Skills

Lead the team of care assistants they are responsible for and train new staff
Have ownership of the care plan, including the creation of the care plan and its delivery
Monitor general health and vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
Communicate with families about their relative’s progress
Deliver activities to stimulate and engage residents
Fill in medication reports
Assist residents in dressing, washing and using the bathroom
Serve meals and assist with feeding when required
Medication Administration Experience
Proven senior care experience with a focus on supervising teams in the care sector
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide staff towards achieving organisational objectives
Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including professional phone etiquette
Sound time management skills to optimise productivity within tight schedules
Administrative experience with proficiency in organising documentation, reports, and schedules
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude
