At Metal Solutions, we're looking for a highly organised and proactive Technical Administrator to play a vital role in keeping customer orders moving smoothly from enquiry through to delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, customer service, or order processing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with multiple teams.
As a key member of our Commercial Operations team, you'll support the Technical Department with customer enquiries, sales order processing, production planning, administration, helping us deliver exceptional service to customers across the UK and internationally.
What You'll Be Doing
Customer Enquiries & CRM Administration
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming technical enquiries.
- Gather and record accurate customer information within the CRM system.
- Support the Technical Team by following up on leads and maintaining enquiry records.
- Ensure all customer interactions and updates are accurately logged.
Order Processing & Production Planning
- Process sales orders accurately and efficiently in line with company procedures.
- Work closely with the Production Supervisor to schedule confirmed orders within the production plan.
- Help coordinate workloads and delivery schedules to meet customer requirements.
- Identify potential delays or risks and escalate concerns where necessary.
Administration & Customer Support
- Produce and maintain warranty documentation.
- Process customer payments over the phone when required.
- Maintain accurate electronic filing and document management systems.
- Provide administrative support across the wider business and cover colleagues during periods of absence.
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate records across internal systems and CRM platforms.
- Support business improvement initiatives by identifying and reporting process issues.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

- Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Proactive, solution-focused, and comfortable escalating issues when needed.
- A strong team player with a positive and professional attitude.
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience in an order processing, customer service, coordination, or administration role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, construction, or similar operational environment would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and internal business software.
