Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage time effectively while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles, including vans and lorries, to deliver products to designated locations.
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of goods while adhering to all traffic regulations.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Load and unload products, which may involve heavy lifting, ensuring that items are secured properly during transit.
- Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition before embarking on deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during the delivery process.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
- Strong commercial driving skills with a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading of goods.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is advantageous.
- A strong sense of responsibility and reliability in managing delivery schedules.
