Laboratory Assistant: 6-month Fix Term Contract
About Us:
E&O Laboratories Ltd is a UK market leader for the manufacture of Microbiological Culture Media.
We are recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to work within our Quality Control Department, in our independent laboratory situated at our Bonnybridge Site. This position is for a fix term of 6-months, however this period may be extended depending on business requirements.
The Role:
As busy UKAS accredited Microbiology Laboratory catering for an internationally recognised client, providing a fast, efficient and accurate service, you will assist with the testing of Culture Media, raw materials and environmental samples.
This is a fast moving, high turnaround department, to ensure that all the testing is carried out in direct accordance with instructions, as well as in strict compliance with the relevant Standard Test Methods.
To be considered for this role:
- You will hold a degree in a relevant science subject
- Experience working in a Laboratory environment will be an advantage, although full training will be given to the successful candidate
- You will have excellent attention to detail, strong numeracy, organisation and communication skills
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a busy team
- Be a quick learner, able to priorities workloads and multitask
- Hold solid computer skills

Shift Pattern:
This shift pattern rotates each week between:
- Mon to Thu 08.00 to 17.00, Fri 08.00 to 14.00 (40hrs per week)
- Mon to Thu 08.30 to 17.30, Fri 08.00 to 14.00 (40hrs per week)
Salary: NMW, with the opportunity for this rate to increase after training and a successful probationary period.
