Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Community Care Worker to join our team. This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals within their own homes or care settings, ensuring their well-being, independence, and dignity are maintained. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to care. A valid driving licence and experience in supervising or leading care teams are highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need while working within a supportive environment.

Duties

Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the physical and emotional needs of clients are met with compassion and professionalism
Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring high standards of care delivery
Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, medication management, meal preparation, and mobility assistance
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and progress reports
Support clients with social activities and encourage independence where possible
Utilise IT systems effectively to record client information, schedule visits, and communicate with team members
Drive between different client locations as required, ensuring timely attendance at scheduled visits
Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and reporting any concerns promptly
· Availability to support rota requirements, including cover and on-call duties where required.

Requirements

Proven experience working within a care home or providing community-based senior care services
Supervising or leadership experience within a care setting is highly advantageous
Valid driving licence with reliable access to a vehicle for work purposes
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, families, and team members
Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety regulations
Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and using relevant software systems
Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
