Telesales Executive | Blackpool | £40,000 (OTE £60,000)
Building Spatial Intelligence (BSI) has spent more than two decades partnering with schools and Multi Academy Trusts to make educational estates safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. We have mapped over 11 million square metres of educational buildings, supported more than 4,000 schools, and built our reputation on technical credibility and long-term customer relationships.
We help schools, MATs and Local Authorities answer hard estate questions - where capacity is over- or under-used, how condition data should drive funding bids, how IoT sensor data on air quality and occupancy can shape day-to-day operations, and how a single integrated view of CAD, BIM and live data supports better decisions across the estate. We work closely with the Department for Education and align our work to the Good Estate Management for Schools (GEMS) framework.
BSI is in a phase of significant growth, and we are recruiting a Telesales Executive to build the next generation of customer relationships across the broader market.
The role in brief
The Telesales role is the front door to BSI for mid-tier Multi Academy Trusts across England. You will spend your day on the phone, in online meetings, and on email - qualifying enquiries, opening conversations with new prospects, and closing deals end-to-end.
You will work alongside the Sales Executive team, and you will be the source of warm introductions when one of your accounts grows into something bigger. The role suits someone who is energetic, methodical about activity, comfortable making outbound calls, and ambitious about a sales career.
Key responsibilities
- Own a defined territory of client accounts, building pipeline through proactive outbound calling, email outreach, and inbound enquiry follow-up.
- Qualify opportunities clearly and quickly - understanding the customer’s estate context, funding position, and timeline.
- Run deals end-to-end: discovery, scoping with the Sales Engineer, proposal, close, hand-off to Production.
- Recognise when an account is growing beyond the Telesales remit and make warm, well-prepared introductions to the relevant Sales Executive.
- Maintain meticulous CRM records - pipeline hygiene is a core part of the role.
- Hit defined activity metrics with revenue accountability.
- Build product knowledge through structured training, shadowing, and self-directed study.
What we are looking for
- Prior B2B sales experience, ideally in a phone-based or hybrid sales role (1–3 years is a good fit; we are also open to candidates moving from a high-quality customer-success or inside-sales background).
- Experience selling into the UK education sector, public sector, or built environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, comfortable opening conversations cold, listening well, and writing emails that get replies.
- Methodical, well organised, and comfortable working to activity targets as well as revenue targets.
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who is curious, resilient, and coachable. You should be motivated by progress against numbers — both your activity and your revenue. And you should be a good colleague: this is a small, growing sales team, and you will work closely day-to-day with the Sales Executives, Sales Engineer, Bid Coordinator and Production team alongside you.
Career trajectory
We recruit Telesales Executives with the explicit hope of growing some of them into Client Account Manager or other senior commercial roles over time. Strong performers will be supported with structured training, exposure to larger and more complex deals, and a clear development plan reviewed each quarter.
