Business Development Assistant
We are seeking a Business Development Assistant to join our team and drive growth in our metals/mineral and agricultural testing services.
Previous experience is preferred but not essential as the successful candidate will be provided with relevant training.
You will become responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting our services to prospective clients.
This role is based at our Aintree Head Office, with potential for frequent UK and international travel to visit clients and promote the company at industry events/conferences/trade shows in the future. A full UK driving license is required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the AS International Corporation commercial team to maximise sales and revenue generation to exceed monthly/annual targets.
2. Identify and prospect potential clients using market and company data, for networking, and strategic desk marketing.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
4. Coordinate communication with clients (e-mails, follow-ups, scheduling meetings).
5. To be actively involved with client visits to the Aintree Head Office and any other location as required.
6. Conduct research on market trends, competitors, new business opportunities, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
7. Assist in preparing marketing materials, proposals, and presentations for prospective clients.
8. Assist in organising events, exhibitions, and any other promotional activities.
9. Attend UK and international client visits/industry events/conferences/trade shows where required and network with key stakeholders to stay abreast of industry developments.
10. Provide regular reports and updates to the Commercial Executive on sales performance, market trends, and client feedback.
11. Assist the commercial team with any administration support required to support the daily running of operations.
12. Support continuous improvement initiative within the commercial team.
13. Strives to uphold a strong company reputation within the international markets in which we operate.
14. Ensure a health and safety (HSE) culture, policies and procedures are promoted, communicated and implemented effectively.
15. Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
16. Perform relevant duties in line with the Company’s Quality Management System and adhere to all Standards to which the Company is accredited to.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualifications in a relevant field ideally (e.g., Business, Marketing, Science) is preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrative experience of working within and supporting a Business Development/Commercial team is preferred but not essential.
- Strong and effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to liaise professionally at ALL levels within and outside the company.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong and self-motivated skills with a genuine interest in the personal development of the team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Willing to explore future opportunities for international travel.
