An exciting senior leadership opportunity within the Medicine Division. reporting to the Divisional Director of Nursing, you will play a key role in the Care Group leadership team, driving strategy, service transformation, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

An experienced senior leader with a strong track record in quality improvement, strategic leadership, and managing complex healthcare services. You will have excellent people, financial, and organisational skills and be registered with the NMC (or relevant AHP body).

Job Summary
Accountable to the Divisional Director of Nursing/AHP’s the post holder will be an integral member of the Care Group Leadership Team.
The ADN/AHP’s is an experienced, motivated, and independently minded leader who is able to act on their own initiative, achieving outstanding performance as a role model of the trust’s values and behaviours .
They will thrive within a climate of constant change managing the strategic direction and performance with a strong focus on improved patient experience and productivity for the Care Group
The ADN/AHP’s will provide professional, managerial, and clinical leadership for Nursing in their Care Group. The role will focus on the quality of the patient experience through the delivery of high quality safe and effective care.
As a senior leader, the post holder will demonstrate the values and behaviours that are explicit in the Trust corporate/ Nursing Strategy, supported by the standards set out by and the guiding principles within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
The post holder will function at a senior level within the care group triumvirate, proactively leading and providing solutions to resolve complex issues, in accordance with professional standards, agreed Trust objectives, targets, quality standards and resource constraints.
The post holder will have extensive senior experience in leading professional teams, and will possess leadership skills to deal competently with complex issues in ensuring that professional standards and policy are upheld, implemented and performance managed
hey will be an integral member of the Care Group leadership triumvirate working alongside the Head of Operations and Clinical Director to lead the strategic direction, policy setting, performance, quality, care, and compassion of the Nursing service within the Care Group
The ADN/AHP’s will have line management and budgetary responsibility for the Nursing workforce for the Care Group
They will work collaboratively with this multi-professional team for the best outcomes for patients and staff.
Leadership
Provide effective clinical and professional leadership that demonstrates the values and behaviours identified within the Trusts framework and act as a role model for all staff within LHCH, Broadgreen &DTC
Provide line management and develop the clinical Nursing teams and individuals as required within the Care Group
Support the delivery of care through patient and staff engagement, clinical supervision and holding self and others to account for the delivery of care in the Care Group/service Develop innovative strategies to guide and coach Nursing/teams in developing and strengthening leadership skills in order to meet the responsibilities of their role and provide succession planning.
Provide expert Nursing advice to the Care Group, representing the profession.
Contribute as part of the Care Group triumvirate to the development of service delivery and transformation plans across the Division.
Supporting implementation plans, and working with internal and external stakeholders to continually improve patient services
Foster and develop strong collaborative credible working relationships across care groups divisions and sites.
Clinical Governance / Quality
Ensure that the Nursing professions in the Care Group adheres to Trust Risk Management policy and procedures, reporting and proactively finding solutions to address risk, leading and monitoring progress on mitigation plans on behalf of the Nursing profession
Lead on a number of trust priorities, key objectives and strategic goals including the implementation and performance monitoring of the Liverpool Quality Assessment and Accreditation system (LQA) in the Care Group
Monitoring and delivery of key performance, access targets contractual obligations and Nursing quality standards, CQUINS and CQC standards using data and information to support decisions, promptly escalating issues which can’t be resolved.
Actively contribute to investigations. Demonstrating compassion, empathy, curiosity, objectively and transparency in the process.
Ensuring lessons learnt following clinical incidents are communicated to the care group and the division and service changes are implemented along with the continuous monitoring of action plans using the governance framework.
Ensure that the Trust Infection Prevention and Control policies are adhered to, thematic reviews and learning are shared, and learning is embedded.
Ensure all staff are appropriately trained to enable them to undertake their duties safely and without undue risk.
Ensure that robust systems are in place to monitor and remind Nurses’ regarding renewal of professional registration.
Ensure all Nurses comply with NMC regulations and work within their scope of practice
Provide leadership for complaints management within the Care Group ensuring that investigations and responses are accurate and timely to meet the Trust guidelines and patient/service user expectations.
Support the delivery of key lines of enquiry.
Financial Management
Accountable for the budgets for all Nursing and or AHP pay spend, to include bank and agency staff costs and controls for their Care Group/service.
Responsible for capital and revenue budgets, in relation to Nursing/AHP service costs. Ensuring that robust monitoring and checking systems are in place.
Lead the delivery of speciality cost improvements and maintain consistent evaluation of the service provision to ensure value for money.
To work with the Care Group leadership team to deliver a balanced budget, including the delivery of agreed QEP schemes.
Lead relevant business cases / plans for service and capital development within the Care Group
Work with the Head of Operations to maintain a system for the Capital Replacement Programme
Encourage a climate that allows front line staff to question and redefine how their work is undertaken ensuring the on-going development of patient centred care and cost-effective use of resources.
