Job/Person Summary

Dogmersfield Primary School is a small school with a Church of England ethos and a family atmosphere. Our values of love, respect and courage, and our Vision statement "Start children off on the way they should go...so they live life in all its fullness" are at the heart of all that we do.

We are looking for a freindly, organised Admin Officer to join our small and welcoming village school. In our close-knit community, strong interpersonal skills and a positive, approachable manner are just as important as financial experience.

Working closely with the Headteacher, you will ensure the school's finances are well-managed, compliant and supporting the best possible opportunities for our children. Your responsiblities will include day-to-day financial administration, monitoring, reporting and purchasing in line with Hampshire County Council policies.

As a key point of contact for staff and parents, you'll need to be patient, confident and comfortable builing warm professional realtionships. In return, we offer a supportive team environment and the chance to make a meaningful impact on our school community.

Key Responsibilites

Support the preperation, management and monitoring of the school budget
Manage financial operations, including payments, reconciliations and banking
Assist with tendering processes and purchasing and contract decisions to ensure best value
Maintain staff records, contracts, and HR documentation, keep Single Central Record up to date
Support induction processes for new staff
Maintain and update policy files, staff handbooks, and statutory school documents
Provide high‑quality administrative support to the Headteacher and senior leadership team
Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
Health and Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirement

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Highly orgnaised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a busy school office
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Flexible and adaptable, willing to respond to the varied needs of a primary school
Experience of working in an administrative role, ideally within a school or similar setting
Finance administration experience: budgeting, forecasting, purchasing
Payroll administration experience
AAT qualification (part-qualified or studying) or similar financial training
Good standard of general education (GCSE English and Maths)
Strong ICT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
