Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and service. As Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity for career progression within a reputable hospitality environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure smooth operations
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Prepare a variety of dishes with precision and creativity, adhering to established recipes and standards
Maintain high levels of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation to uphold a safe working environment
Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery
Assist in developing new menu items and culinary innovations to enhance the customer experience

Requirements

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in food production, team management, and restaurant operations
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management
Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of service and presentation
Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach to service delivery
