Hours: Five days a week including Saturday. (Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat) – 39 hours per week

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with livestock experience or an interest in animal husbandry to develop their career within a progressive agricultural business.
About the Role
As a Stud Technician, you will support the daily operation of the boar stud, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, semen collection, processing, and quality control are maintained to achieve production targets.
Working closely with the wider team, you will help ensure herd health, operational efficiency, and compliance with all welfare and biosecurity requirements.
Due to the strict biosecurity standards within our Boar Stud operation, successful candidates must have no contact with pigs outside of work and be willing to comply with all site biosecurity procedures, including showering and changing into site-provided clothing at the start and end of each shift. To protect herd health and maintain operational standards, mobile phones are not permitted within the farm or laboratory areas and may only be used during designated breaks in approved locations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform boar semen collection in line with welfare, quality, and biosecurity standards.

Monitor boar health, behaviour, and performance, reporting concerns promptly.

Maintain exceptional standards of animal welfare and stockmanship.

Follow strict biosecurity procedures, including shower-in/shower-out protocols and movement controls.

Support cleaning, disinfection, and hygiene programmes across the stud.

Accurately complete production, health, and quality records.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production and quality targets.

Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.

Previous agricultural, livestock, pig production, or farming experience.

Understanding of animal welfare and stockmanship principles.

Knowledge of biosecurity practices.

Agricultural, Animal Science, or Livestock-related qualification.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Training in animal welfare, health & safety, artificial insemination, or boar stud operations.
