We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Level 3+ Gymnastics Coach to become our new Head of Squads and help shape the future of our competitive programme.
But here’s the important part…
We are not an “elite” gym.
Yes, we want to produce excellent gymnastics.
Yes, we want gymnasts to progress, perform well, and achieve their goals.
But we also believe gymnastics should be enjoyable, supportive, and something children love being part of.
Our focus is on creating a positive and ambitious programme that develops confident gymnasts, happy families, and a strong sense of community, whilst still delivering a high standard of coaching and performance across both WAG and GFA pathways.

The Opportunity
This is a genuine opportunity to make the role your own.
We want someone who is excited by the idea of bringing fresh ideas, reviewing our current programme, and helping shape the future direction of our squads.
You’ll oversee our competitive pathways across WAG and GFA, supporting gymnasts currently competing at county and regional level, whilst helping create clear progression routes and a positive culture throughout the programme.
You’ll have the freedom to influence:
- Training structure and planning
- Squad pathways and progression
- Gymnast development
- Coach mentoring and support
- Programme standards and culture

Key Responsibilities
- Review and develop our current competitive programme
- Coach and develop gymnasts safely through their competitive journey
- Plan and deliver engaging, progressive training sessions
- Support gymnasts to achieve their individual goals and potential
- Communicate positively and professionally with families
- Lead and support squad coaches and assistants
- Help create a positive, ambitious, and supportive team culture
- Attend competitions and support athletes to perform at their best
- Continue developing and improving the programme overall
- All Admin involved with running a squad programme
Hours
- Full-time or part-time considered
- Minimum 16 hours per week
- Sessions mainly evenings and weekends
- Additional hours available through camps, extra training and competitions
Pay
Competitive salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
Essential Requirements
✅ Minimum British Gymnastics Level 3 WAG Qualification
(Experienced Level 2 coaches may also be considered)
✅ Experience coaching within a competitive gymnastics pathway
✅ Strong communication and leadership skills
✅ Positive and proactive coaching style
✅ Ability to adapt training to different gymnasts and abilities
✅ Team player who supports and encourages others
✅ Passion for learning and ongoing development
Desirable
⭐ Management or mentoring experience
⭐ Experience leading squads or programmes
⭐ First Aid Qualification
⭐ Basic Admin experience
(All required safeguarding, DBS, and training can be provided by the club.)
