The Council’s Leisure Services team manage a range of targeted programmes to increase physical activity within the community as well as providing the strategic direction to enable positive health and wellbeing outcomes for residents.
Eastleigh is lucky to host some inspirational facilities such as the Utilita Bowl, Stoneham Lane Football Complex and Places Leisure Eastleigh, which attracts in the region of 1 million visits per year.
About the Role
We would like a strong candidate able to support the development and delivery of our summer sports programme, Eastleigh Active, as well as supporting the Sport & Leisure Officer to plan additional programmes that will be coming forward in 2026.
You will work within the Leisure Services team with a strong customer focus and be provided with the opportunity to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of the local Eastleigh community.
Your duties will include:
development and delivery of the Eastleigh Active programme over the summer period, working with activity providers and venues to enable physical activity opportunities for young people.
support the ongoing marketing and promotion of the programme and the monitoring and evaluation, gaining feedback from end users.
support other areas of the Leisure Services work programme
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for sport and leisure and is keen to gain experience and expand their knowledge in the sector.
This position is ideal for a graduate or someone who is looking to expand their working experience, who is a self-starter and capable of working on their own initiative.
We are looking for someone who can represent the Leisure Services team, to expand on existing partnerships and take pride in the work they do.
Ideally, you will have good IT skills and be comfortable working across a number of social media platforms, to promote our amazing programmes and places.
You will have good communication skills and be confident engaging with people.

This role will offer you the opportunity to work within the Leisure Services team, on a casual contract due to the fluctuating nature of the work. You will be exposed to a variety of work areas and delivery partners that will provide experience and knowledge that can be applied to progress career opportunities.
As a casual staff member of the council, there is flexibility and the work can fit around your prior commitments.
All IT equipment will be supplied, and the role will involve remote working as well as some office-based work.
