Prime Degrees Ltd has secured the next phase of a major heating refurbishment project within a large Sixth Form College in Cambridge.
We are looking for an experienced Pipefitter or Heating Engineer to join our team on a self-employed basis until project completion at the end of October 2026.
The Project
The works involve the installation of copper press-fit heating systems serving radiators and fan convectors across the largest building on site.
As this is a live educational environment, the successful candidate must be professional, conscientious and capable of working to a high standard whilst maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
Working Hours
Term Time
- 4:00pm – Midnight
- £300 per shift
School Holidays
- Daytime working
- £240 per shift
With the summer holidays fast approaching, there is a significant amount of daytime work available.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or Heating Engineer
- Competent installing copper press-fit pipework
- Able to read and interpret drawings, schematics and heating layouts
- Own tools and transport
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Takes pride in producing neat, professional installations
Site Requirements
As works are being carried out within a live college environment, engineers must:
- Protect work areas whilst working
- Maintain high housekeeping standards
- Clean up thoroughly at the end of each shift
- Conduct themselves professionally at all times
A DBS certificate will be required. Assistance can be provided for suitable candidates who need to obtain one.
