Overview
We're looking for a creative and collaborative Social Media Executive to join our Marketing team on a 12 month maternity cover contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys creating engaging content, spotting emerging trends, and bringing brands to life through social media.
Working across multiple platforms, you'll play an important role in maintaining our online presence, engaging our community, and helping customers discover and connect with our collections. From creating compelling content and managing social channels to supporting influencer activity and analysing performance, you'll help bring the Sophie Allport brand to life every day.
All About You
You are naturally creative, highly organised, and have a strong eye for detail. You enjoy creating engaging digital content and understand how to connect with audiences across a range of social media platforms.
You'll have a strong understanding of social media trends and content formats, particularly short form video, and enjoy identifying opportunities to engage and grow online communities.
You combine creative thinking with commercial awareness, using insight and performance data to refine and improve your approach. Comfortable managing multiple priorities, you'll be proactive, collaborative and confident building positive relationships with colleagues, influencers and external partners.
Most importantly, you'll bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for creating content that helps people connect with our brand.
Key Responsibilities
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain company social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube and LinkedIn.
- Plan and maintain content calendars aligned with marketing campaigns, product launches and seasonal activity.
- Create high-quality, engaging and on brand content, with a strong focus on video-first formats including Reels, TikToks, Stories and promotional video content.
- Write engaging copy for posts, captions and stories.
- Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments, messages and reviews in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, tone of voice and business priorities.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, platform updates and content formats.
- Generate imagery and video content using internal AI tools where appropriate.
Content Creation & Campaign Support
- Develop creative content ideas to support marketing campaigns, product launches and seasonal activity.
- Collaborate with the Creative Team to deliver engaging and effective social content.
- Support company brand shoots and identify opportunities to create social-first content.
- Coordinate and deliver ad-hoc social content shoots where required.
Analytics & Performance
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics including engagement, reach, follower growth and conversions.
- Produce regular performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
- Test new content formats and approaches to support audience growth and engagement.
- Monitor competitor activity and industry developments to identify opportunities.
Influencer & Partnership Support
- Build and maintain relationships with influencers and brand ambassadors.
- Research and evaluate potential influencer partnerships aligned with brand values.
- Coordinate influencer activity and monitor campaign performance.
- Maintain accurate records of influencer partnerships and activity.
Brand Governance & Community Management
- Identify and escalate customer concerns, risks or opportunities to the appropriate teams.
- Ensure content complies with brand guidelines, copyright requirements, platform regulations and data protection principles.
- Maintain accurate documentation and content approval records.
- Support the appropriate handling of brand-related issues across social media channels.
- Comply with company Health & Safety policies and procedures
Experience, Requirements and Attributes
- Proven experience in a social media, content creation or digital marketing role.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation, particularly short-form video.
- Experience managing multiple social media channels while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Confident engaging with online communities and the general public.
- Ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into meaningful actions.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confident working both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AI content creation tools would be advantageous.
- A genuine interest in home interiors and lifestyle brands would be beneficial.
- The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
